Fifth Grade

I love being a teacher and teaching fifth grade is my absolute favorite! I love that fifth grade gives us the opportunity to learn so much about our country and its history, and about how to expand on everything we learned in fourth grade! I especially love teaching math and history in fifth because I love seeing my students make connections to what they learn and show creativity with the way they solve problems.
Learning is something I love to do, and I love watching that love grow in my students each year as well! I love incorporating creative ways to show what we learn and want to make coming to school something my students are excited to do every single day! I want my students to recognize the role they have within the classroom, and continually give them opportunities to lead and share their ideas. The classroom becomes our classroom as I work with my students to learn all kinds of new things and build each other up through respect, service and fun!
When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, hanging out with my family and friends, being outside, watching soccer games and traveling (especially to Disneyland)! I also love trying new restaurants and new recipes, and would craft all day long if I could!
I graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in teaching English to speakers of other languages. During my teaching time, I also worked to earn a teaching endorsement in gifted education. As a teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach both regular education third and fourth grade classes, and gifted education fourth and fifth grade classes. I’ve loved every single year!
I am so excited to be a part of Lincoln again this year!
