Science
I grew up in West Jordan, Utah, alongside my two sisters and one brother. In high school, I was actively involved in dance and cheerleading and developed a deep love for science. I began my college education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho (now BYU–Idaho), where I especially enjoyed my science classes. Wanting to combine my love for science and education, I pursued a degree in Biology Composite Teaching. I later transferred to Brigham Young University and graduated in 1997.
My teaching career began at Mount Logan Middle School in Logan, Utah, where I taught 8th Grade Science. After starting a family, I joined Lincoln Academy as a teacher assistant in 2nd grade. After two years, I transitioned to teaching Junior High Science when the new building opened in 2014. This is now my 12th year teaching science at Lincoln Academy, and I love being part of such a wonderful school community.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading—especially historical fiction—soaking in my hot tub, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. My husband and I have five amazing children: Malorie (26), Abby (24), twins Brock and Brinley (20), and Ellie (17). Being a wife and mother is one of my greatest joys.
As a family, we love skiing and sledding during the winter, especially at our cabin in Island Park, Idaho. In the summer, we enjoy camping, hiking, paddleboarding, and kayaking. I’m very social and love connecting with others, whether it’s through a good book, a great vacation, or simply a day out shopping.
I’m excited for another amazing year at Lincoln Academy and look forward to helping my students grow in their love for science!
