Rebecca Poulsen

I was born in Louisiana, and when I was 10 years old, my family moved to Michigan. I graduated from high school in Michigan and then attended Brigham Young University for a couple of years before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan. Upon returning from my mission, I attended Utah Valley University, at the time UVCC. I graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business.

I married my best friend, Greg Poulsen, in March 1998. We have four children, two boys and two girls. My two oldest children got married in 2022. This summer, 2025, I will become a grandma. My daughter is having a little boy, and my daughter-in-law is having a little girl one month apart. I look forward to spoiling them. I have a son with cerebral palsy who is the happiest kid around. He is now 23 years old and loves the simple things in life. We adopted our youngest daughter in 2011, and she has been the joy in our family. She has attended Lincoln Academy since kindergarten.

I started working at Lincoln Academy in the Special Education Department. When my youngest daughter was in first grade, I fell in love with all the students and enjoyed working the next few years as a teacher’s assistant. Then in 2021, I went back to school to get a master’s degree in special education to become a certified teacher. I graduated with my master’s degree in May of 2022, and I have loved my first year of teaching in the special education department.

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling with my family. We have been to China, England, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Denmark, and the Bahamas. This summer, we are heading to Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai to complete a trip to all of the Disney parks in the world in four months. We have also traveled all over the United States. We love to camp and look for wildlife. My favorite animal to spot is a moose. I also enjoy attending sporting events as well as watching them on television. It’s been fun watching my youngest play soccer at Lincoln and win the championship the last two years.
