First Grade[930]

Growing up in San Clemente, CA, I always knew I wanted a career where I could help others and make a positive impact on their lives. Throughout my childhood, when asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, my response was always “Nurse or teacher”. I originally began college pursuing a nursing degree with plans to work in pediatrics, but I soon realized that teaching was a better fit for my strengths and passions. I discovered that I wanted to help children not only academically, but also personally by encouraging them, helping them recognize their potential, and creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel valued and capable.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University. Throughout my program, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of classrooms (K-6 and even in a dual-immersion school) and learn from experienced educators who strengthened my passion for teaching. I am excited to begin my journey as a 1st grade teacher at Lincoln Academy and become a part of a school community that values service, growth, and achievement.

I believe that every student is capable, valued, and full of potential. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe to learn, grow, and challenge themselves each day. Growth happens when students are seen, supported, encouraged, and held to high expectations. By building strong relationships, creating engaging learning experiences, and fostering a positive classroom community, I hope to help students develop confidence both academically and personally. At Lincoln Academy, students are encouraged to SOAR, and I look forward to helping my students do exactly that.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and playing sports. Some of my favorite activities include pickleball and swimming. My husband and I especially enjoy movie nights, board games, and spending time with our friends and family. Summer is my favorite season and I have always loved the ocean and sea turtles. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach, learn, and grow alongside my students this year at Lincoln Academy.
