Joi Clements
I’ve recently joined Lincoln Academy and couldn’t be happier to be a part of the team! My role in Title I is to help the Jr. High students in reading and Language Arts skills. Language Arts and reading have always been things I am passionate about and it is such a pleasure and joy to work with these students one on one and in small groups. I love to help students discover the excitement of reading and helping students gain confidence in their skills and, more importantly, themselves. I love to ask my students what they want to be when they grow up and want to support and encourage them in any way I can; they can do anything they set their mind to!
My background is in mental health; I graduated with my Bachelor in Science in Psychology at Brigham Young University and a minor in Family Science. Through my exploration of different jobs working with adults with disabilities, students on the autism spectrum, and adults and adolescents with eating disorders, my true passion and desire has always been to help people. I have found a particular love for working with adolescents and am passionate about helping them understand their physical, mental, and emotional health. I am working toward a Masters in Teaching Health in Secondary Education. I have my Associate Educator License and am endorsed in Secondary Health and Psychology and look forward to eventually becoming a full time teacher.
