Katrina Hill
I love American Sign Language worth a passion. Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with the language. Because I loved it so much I decided to make my career. I received my B.A from Utah Valley University in Integrated studies with an emphasis in ASL and Ballroom Dance. In addition to my undergrad degree I graduated recently from UVU with my graduate secondary teaching certificate to teach ASL as a foreign language. This past summer I received my Master of education with emphasis in ASL and curriculum design
Before becoming a teacher I worked for Alpine School District for 14 years as an ASL Para-professional. I have taught high school ASL 1, 2, and 3 at Orem High School. I did my student teaching at Skyridge High school. I currently work part time at American Fork Jr High and part time at Lincoln Academy. I have been called Ms. Katrina for the past 13 years while working in special education. Being called Ms. Hill doesn’t sound right but I will still respond to it, my students call me Ms. K which I love.
I have lived in Utah my whole life and love it here, especially the mountains. I love to go camping and spend as much time outdoors as I can. I have two amazing kids that I love to make memories with.
I love all things sports, especially BYU football. I love to play volleyball, softball, and pickleball. One of my favorite things to do besides watch sports is to dance. I love to go social dancing, albeit when I have time. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family and kids, and teaching. If I am not going on an adventure you can usually find me curled up on my couch reading a book.
I am so excited to teach at Lincoln academy and have enjoyed getting to know all the students here.
