1. Who We Are

This notice applies to Lincoln Academy Incorporated, a Utah public charter school located at 1582 W 3300 N, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. We operate this government website: https://www.lincoln-academy.org.

2. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal or user data by emailing website@lincoln-acadmey.org with “Access Request.”
  • Correction: Request corrections by emailing the same address with “Correction Request.”
  • Complaint: File a complaint with the Utah Data Privacy Ombudsperson.
  • At-Risk Employees: Request private-record classification under Utah Code §63G-2-302 by contacting hr@lincoln-academy.org.

3. Website Tracking Technologies

We use limited tracking tools to operate, secure, and improve the website:

  • Google Analytics / Tag Manager – traffic metrics
  • Google reCAPTCHA – spam and bot prevention on forms
  • YouTube / Vimeo embeds – instructional videos
  • Google Maps embeds – location and navigation

A cookie banner allows visitors to Accept All, Reject All, or Customize preferences.

4. What Data We Collect

Depending on your interaction, we may collect:

  • Name, email, phone number, and address
  • Student name, grade, and ID
  • Parent or guardian details
  • Volunteer and driver license/insurance verification
  • Background-check and employment information
  • Payments and lunch account information processed through Infinite Campus
  • Technical details such as IP address, browser type, and device information

We do not sell or market personal data.

5. Why We Collect This Data

Data is collected to:

  • Process student enrollment, registration, and re-enrollment
  • Manage meals, payments, and fee waivers via Infinite Campus
  • Coordinate volunteers, drivers, and field trips
  • Conduct employee and background checks
  • Communicate with families and staff
  • Comply with FERPA, GRAMA, and other state/federal obligations
  • Maintain and secure the Lincoln Academy website

If required information is not provided, certain requests (such as lunch orders or enrollment) cannot be processed.

6. Who Has Access to the Data

Internal roles: Administration, front office, finance, teachers, IT/web, operations, facilities, and lunch staff.
External service providers: Infinite Campus (student information system and payments), WordPress (hosting & content), Formidable Forms / Google Forms / Jotform (data collection), Google Workspace (Drive, Analytics, Tag Manager, reCAPTCHA, Maps), Paycom (HR management), and other approved educational tools (Canvas, Clever, IXL, Train.onqsafety.com).

All vendors are bound by agreements to protect data and use it only for school purposes.

7. Student Information & Minors

Lincoln Academy collects student data from parents, guardians, and authorized users for legitimate educational and operational purposes. We do not use this site to market to children. Student education records are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Lincoln Academy does not publish or share student names, photographs, or identifying information online without documented parental consent, consistent with FERPA and our Internet/Network Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Security of Information

We protect information using reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. These include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages
  • Password-protected systems and role-based staff access
  • Vendor contracts requiring data protection
  • Annual staff data-privacy training
  • Firewalls and content filters maintained under the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
  • Network monitoring to ensure compliance with the Internet/Network Acceptable Use Policy

While no system is 100% secure, Lincoln Academy actively monitors for misuse or unauthorized access and responds promptly to security concerns.

Information is used only for that purpose and shared with authorized staff and contracted service providers as needed.
