Let’s Keep Lincoln Safe & Respectful

We kindly ask all families to help keep our school community safe and respectful during drop-off and pick-up. Please drive slowly through school zones, follow carpool procedures, and stay in designated areas to avoid blocking traffic or driveways. We’ve also noticed some students leaving trash, picking up rocks, or walking through nearby yards. We ask for your help in reminding your children to respect the homes and property around our school. Let’s all work together to keep our neighborhood clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Thank you for your continued support!

            Carpool Safety

A quick reminder from USPS: please avoid blocking mailboxes when attending school events or during carpool. We’d also like to remind everyone not to park near fire hydrants. Thanks for helping keep our campus safe and accessible.

We are always concerned about the safety of our students.  Please make sure that during carpool, you are following speed limits on the roads and in the parking lot, watching for students who are walking, and following our carpool procedures.  We appreciate your diligence in helping our students stay safe.

            Safe Use of Technology

Hello! In response to recent legislation, the Utah State Board of Education has created an informational video for parents. This resource is both relevant and informative, and we encourage you to take a few minutes to review it. Over the years, we have seen that some students are unaware of the serious legal and personal consequences associated with sexting or receiving and storing explicit images of minors on their phones.

Below, you will find additional information from the state and a link to the video. We appreciate your partnership in helping keep our students safe and informed.

INFORMATION: During the 2025 Legislative Session, the Utah State Legislature passed S.B. 98, aimed at increasing parental awareness about the safety and legal risks students may encounter when using technology.
In collaboration with Bonneville Communications, the Utah State Board of Education has created a brief, informative video to help families better understand issues such as:
            • Risks associated with sharing personal information online
            • Dangers tied to creating or sharing sexual or nude images, including artificially generated images
            • Practical ways families can support safe and responsible technology use

            Fundrasier

            Dear Lincoln Families,

From year to year, Lincoln Academy selects a current need to focus that year’s fundraising efforts to go toward. We have two annual fundraisers, one in the fall and one in the spring. This school year, our fundraising efforts went toward a very impressive reading support tool, and we have already reached 50% of our goal! We are eager to finish strong with our spring fundraiser!

If you have been at Lincoln over the years, you may remember that in the spring we hold a “fun run” as our spring fundraiser, a race around the local community with music and concessions, colored chalk, and a large finish line! Where this has been fun and memorable, and where we have taken great strides to secure safety while the runners continue the path, we have felt increasingly uncomfortable from year to year with student safety.

We decided as a committee to pivot this year, and we took some time discussing other successful school fundraisers that are available. We were looking for an option that was not dependent on good weather, and where we would have no concern with student safety. We were presented with a very successful program that many schools utilize, and we are very excited to share it with our Lincoln families. Please expect to see correspondence in the next couple of months regarding what will be called our “Buddy-A-Thon” fundraiser!  We are confident that, through this fun and engaging fundraiser, that we will hit our goal for the new reading tools!

Thank you for your support during the year, as our Lincoln families come together to make our charter school successful, more bonded as a community, and truly focused on our goals to help our students SOAR!

            Very sincerely,

            Lincoln Academy Fundraising Committee

            Lincoln Academy Sponsorship

The sponsor program partners families and businesses with school classrooms/programs to enhance learning. Sponsors provide funds to classrooms/programs that provide hands-on learning experiences, field trips, children’s educational magazines, and learning opportunities.
Lincoln Academy has a long history of individuals donating time as well as money to help our school become great! We love partnering with families and businesses to sponsor classrooms at Lincoln. Whether this is a monetary donation or volunteering in classrooms, we can’t operate without you. If you choose to be a class sponsor, your family name and/or business logo will be displayed on our TVs. Also, any donation is tax-deductible. Each classroom relies on a $500 sponsorship, which has been donated as a whole amount, or we have had families donate partial amounts. Sponsoring a class is a great option for families to partner with Lincoln when they don’t have the time to volunteer regularly.

If you are interested in being a part of our sponsor program or have any questions, please get in touch with me at jchristensen@lincoln-academy.org. We are extremely grateful for any donation that is given.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to Lincoln Academy, including our anonymous donors.

Your generosity has not gone unnoticed. We truly appreciate your support!
