First Grade
I am beyond excited to be teaching 1st grade at Lincoln Academy. It has always been my dream to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I struggled with ADHD growing up and had to learn how to work hard to be able to learn and grow. It was all that hard work I put into my education that made me fall in love with it. I love to see when children finally understand something that they struggled with before. It is so rewarding to see them excited and also see them falling in love with their own education.
Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. I strongly believe every child is capable of amazing things. Each child learns differently and I love finding the right path of learning for each individual child. I love to learn and have fun while doing it.
I grew up in Sandy, Ut. and have lived close by ever since. My husband and I have 4 wonderful kids together. I love spending time with my kids as often as I can. We love to go the movies, play at the park, go on bike rides, visit museums, do science experiments, and many other things.
I graduated with my associates degree in Early Childhood Development and my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at Utah Vally University (UVU) in Orem Ut. I was previously a teacher at Learning Dynamics for 4 years. I have also been a substitute teacher for the Jordan School District. I decided to come teach at Lincoln Academy not just because I fell in love with the location, but also I started researching about it and found out amazing things that this school has to offer. The staff at this school is amazing. Everyone is kind, loving, and always looking for ways to help each other.
