Sixth Grade

I am so excited to be back at Lincoln Academy this year! This will be my 4th year teaching 6th grade science and math. Teaching science has been such an amazing experience and I can’t think of anything else that I’d rather do. I come from a family of teachers. My grandfather was a teacher, my dad was a teacher and now my brother, my sister-in-law and I have all followed in their footsteps. I have always wanted to be a teacher even from a young age. I had amazing teachers who inspired me to learn and taught me to always strive to do my best. My goal is to be that same kind of teacher.

I graduated from Utah Valley University in 2009 and afterwards had the privilege of teaching English in Taiwan for year. I then worked at a middle school for at risk youth before taking a fifth grade position in Roosevelt. These experiences helped me grow as a teacher and reaffirmed how important education is in today’s world. I truly want to be a teacher that creates a classroom environment that not only encourages learning but also inspires my students to challenge themselves and expand their minds.

I have a wonderful husband, 7 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. They are my favorite people in the world! I love spending time with my little family. Some of our favorite things to do together include going to the zoo and museums, camping, and fishing! In my spare time I also enjoy reading, hiking, and watching old movies.
