I am so eager and ready to start my 4th year teaching at Lincoln Academy as a first grade teacher! I am so grateful and blessed to work amongst such passionate, kind, and committed staff members. I have grown to love so many fellow teachers and students at this school and I am looking forward to another new group of first graders.
On a more personal note, I am from a small, close-knit, town in the Northeastern part of Wyoming. I started out my schooling at a community college right outside of Yellowstone National Park, and from there continued on to finish my degree at the University of Wyoming in 2017 (Go Cowboys!) with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. Throughout college, I worked at many different daycare/preschool centers and loved every minute of it. I have always enjoyed being around young children. They are so full of life and are such an inspiration to me.
I have had an undeniable passion to become an elementary school teacher ever since I was a young elementary student myself. I would spend my summers off from school “playing school” with my younger sister. I remember collecting all of my allowance money, going to the store, and spending it on school supplies for her. We would then have “class” in the living room of our house, and I would read to her and help her learn how to write.
Teaching has always come natural to me, and I have always had a desire to help young children learn. I have grown up around wonderful teachers who have played significant roles in my life and the lives of my family members. I am eager to meet all of my new students and watch them learn and grow throughout this upcoming school year.
