We are once again holding a student design contest for our fun run. Any Lincoln Academy student is welcome to participate. The winning design will be printed on our fun run race T-shirts. All designs are due at the front office by the end of school on Friday, March 5, 2010. Students will vote on a winner during school the following week. Contest rules are printed on the entry form.
This year’s Health Week will be culminated with a Family Fun Run on Saturday, April 24. There will be both 1 mile and 5K races for students, parents, siblings, and even friends and neighbors. Jump start your fitness for spring and summer by training for this race. Here is a training plan that can transform your family from couch potatoes to 5K runners in just two months:

We are having a great year at Lincoln. Our students are learning every day. As I go about the school I see students learning independently, in groups, and as a whole class. I see them working on individual assignments and projects. I see them doing hands on experiments and exploration and I have the opportunity to talk to them to see how their day is going. I have to have the best job in the world. Some days I feel like a super star as I walk the halls and have many students say hello to me. Additionally, I get to interact with some of the finest students and families I have ever met. Thank you for working with us to make Lincoln Academy a success.
At Lincoln, we strive to educate the whole student. Everyday we set aside time for reading, math, writing, science, and social studies . Weekly students are instructed in Art by parents and teachers; additionally we have specialists who teach PE, Music, Library and Spanish. We provide an in depth educational experience by using the Core Knowledge curriculum which enhances the state requirements. We strive to inspire children to reach their individual potential.
As a public charter school we follow state requirements for testing, reporting and licensing. We have wonderful, enthusiastic, certified teachers and energized, enthusiastic student learners. We have opportunities for parents to be involved in their child's education. We have a parent organization and parental representation on the board of trustees. The administration, staff, faculty, parents and students strive to work together to create a warm, safe, and nurturing educational environment.
